Hello Sec 2-02,

Thurs, 2 Feb lesson:

Thinking about 8 varied / unusual problems for:

Either i) Classroom ii) Bedroom / Study (Pls keep your foolscap & bring it for the next lesson)

Using Your LDs, research on the following:

Velcro / Zipper / Post-Its / Drinking Straw / Vacuum Cleaner / Nylon

Companies to research about: (any other interesting companies to share)?

Du Pont / 3M / Coca Cola

Questioning:
How can the above inventions can improved / combined?
E.g. 1: Velcro walls for shifting walls at home / offices. Allows changing configurations of internal layout.
You can check the house with many layouts for inspiration here.

E.g. 2: Placing a flexible straw below drinks dispenser to prevent spilling.

• Present your understanding of the problem you described 'Social Innovation Proposal' (you may use the questions below as a guide) by:
• Write-Up (Pages) - Max 500 words (define the problem, use the template in Pages, include at least 3 pictures taken by you to enhance your illustration of your understanding of the problem.

• What is the problem?
• How big is your problem?
• How will it impact society if it is not solved?
• Why does the problem exist?
• What is the root cause?
